Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Question: “Will I have to stand up in front of people?”

Answer: Some churches call on their visitors to stand up during the service and introduce themselves. While the WOT family is genuinely interested in getting to know you and we want you to feel welcome, we will never call on you or embarrass you in any way. You can relax and enjoy meeting people at your own pace.

  • Question: “Will I have to dress up?”

Answer: No, you don’t. We encourage people to dress comfortably. For some, that may mean dressing up, but for others it means wearing casual clothes. The New Testament simply instructs us to dress modestly and decently. So, we do not burden people unnecessarily by requiring them to dress up in fancy clothes they do not normally wear. We want everyone to come, be comfortable, and enjoy learning about God together.

  • Question: “Where will my children go during the service?”

Answer: Your children will love the WOT Children’s Church! Our Children’s Church starts immediately after our Pastor prays for the sick and shut in.  One of our Children’s Church team members will kindly assist with getting your child to their class safely. You are more than welcome to drop them off personally if that makes you feel more comfortable.

Children’s church may include active and engaging activities.  We also provide a snack for the kiddos during this time. Please let your assigned host(s) know if your child has any allergies.

Your children will be returned to you immediately before the regular service ends.

  • Question: “What is the preaching like?”

Answer: The sermons are very relevant to what many of us are going through today.  The main goal is to share the truth and relevancy of God’s word and apply it to our daily lives.  You are free to worship as you are led by the spirit.

  • Question: “What kind of music do you have?”

Answer: Our service is a blend of traditional and contemporary worship. We praise God in traditional hymns and praise songs, through both instrumental and vocal music.  Our Senior Vocal Group leads us in worship on 1st Sundays.  Our praise team leads us in worship on the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of the month. The WOT Youth Choir leads the service on 4th Sundays.

  • Question: “What about prayer?”

Answer: It is our privilege to bring praise, thanksgiving, confession and requests to God through prayer. To share a concern or request, simply call or text 843.319.7633.

  • Question: “Can I take communion in your church?”

Answer:  As Disciples, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper on most 1st Sundays. We encourage baptized believers of Jesus Christ to participate in communion. Communion is a reminder of God’s unconditional love poured out for us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • Question: “Do you collect an offering?”

Answer: We collect an offering to support the work of our church and worthy causes in our community. God loves a cheerful giver and so do we.

  • Question: “Who can I contact if I still have questions prior to my visit?”

Answer: Feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you might have. You may also call us at 843.319.7633.

  • Question: “How long is a typical service?”

Answer:   Most Sundays our services are about an hour and thirty minutes in length. Please keep in mind services are subject to the move of the Holy Ghost.

Your Assignment

We believe that you are uniquely wired by God for a specific purpose. Once you figure out what that purpose is, you will be fulfilled.

No one else on earth can fulfill the unique calling that God has for you.

No one else can fulfill your assignment.

Maybe you know exactly what your purpose is, maybe you’ve been running from it for a while, or maybe you have absolutely no idea where to even start looking for it…..

But we want to help you find it.

We believe that the ones who are zealous enough to believe that they can change the world, are the ones who actually do.

God bless you!
